Contemporary House In Sandhurst by M Square Lifestyle Design

Finding the right location for their home was very important to these home owners. “We always liked this specific complex; the particular architecture and great location really appealed to us. We were also very lucky to find a unit in the complex, as the units do not go on sale too often,” says the home owner.

They did their research before deciding on the design. “We were told to look through magazines to see what we liked. An architectural and interior design company immediately caught our attention – not only in its use of wood, cement, glass and steel, but also the furniture from an internationally renowned company,” says the owner.

The eye-catching furniture was incorporated throughout the home, including in the family room, dining room, kitchen and main bedroom. The family room is kitted out with comfortable sofas and a large-screen TV, with natural colours building a warm atmosphere.

An imported Dada kitchen oozes a chic, sophisticated look. Neat and tidy with modern appliances, the kitchen makes quite a statement, with a neutral colour scheme once again working to create a homely feel.  Leading off from the kitchen is the dining room, featuring a large Molteni & C dining-room table that seats 10 comfortably within snug-fitting Molteni & C dining chairs. The effect is rounded off with Foscarini lighting above the table. The main bedroom is the home owner’s favourite room, with a comfortable Molteni & C Glove bed as the centrepiece and Foscarini lighting next to it. Surrounded by wood, the room opens onto a patio with a beautiful view.

Not to be outdone, the main bathroom is a striking affair, surrounded by wood, giving it a game lodge look and feel. The white vanities and wall-hung toilet bring a clean and simple, yet intimate feel to the space. Large windows with a roller blind system add a contemporary touch, using a combination of SheerWeave and blockout materials. Opening up to the manicured garden and swimming pool, the patio boasts a unique “indoor” garden against the wall. Together with a braai area, it’s an entertainer’s dream.
